Application Procedures

Prospective students should contact the Department of Urban and Regional Planning and request our application package or download the Adobe Acrobat pdf files provided on our Application Forms page.

To receive priority consideration for Fall department assistantships, applicants should submit all materials by January 15. For spring admission, applicants should submit all materials by October 15.
There are two ways you can apply for graduate studies at the University of Florida: online or by mail. Please choose one or the other; do not do both. Instructions for each of these options can be found on the UF Graduate School pages.

What You Send to the UF Department of URP
Send these materials to the department you want to major in:
— A copy of your completed application form
— Statement of Purpose*
— Three Recommendation letters
— Copy of Test scores (GRE, TOEFL, TSE)
— Copies of Transcripts from all previous colleges
— Fellowship/assistantship application, if applicable

*This statement should describe the student’s background and interest in studying urban and regional planning.

What You Send to the UF Office of Admissions
Send these materials to the UF Office of Admissions:
— Application form (online or hardcopy version)
— Application fee payment ($30 in US funds)
— Official test scores (GRE, TOEFL, TSE)
— Official transcripts from all previous colleges*
— Florida residency affidavit (part of the application form)
— Conduct declaration (part of the application form)

*If your transcripts are not written in English, also send official English translations of them along with the originals.

What You Send to the UF International Center
If you are a non-US applicant, send your Certification of Financial Responsibility form to the UF International Center.
