About . . .Stephanie Dyer

Stephanie Dyer is Assistant Professor of American History and Political Economy in the Hutchins School of Liberal Studies at Sonoma State University. She has been named a HUD postdoctoral urban fellow and her work has appeared in the Journal of Urban History. Her research explores the interconnections between consumerism and the built environment. Currently, she is working on a book manuscript for publication tentatively entitled The Death of the Department Store: The Political Economy of Local Consumption in Philadelphia, 1920-1996.
