About . . . Kristin M. Szylvian

Kristin M. Szylvian is Associate Professor of History at Western Michigan University where she teaches courses in United States History and Public History. Her research interests are in housing, planning, and natural resource utilization. Szylvian is presently working on a study of the Camden Plan, a federal housing program created in 1940 to introduce unionized industrial workers to mutual home ownership, community planning, and architect-designed housing. She is also co-directing a Public History project on Southwest Michigan 's Fruit Belt and the Benton Harbor Produce Market.
