LAE Top Ranked by DesignIntelligence for Second Year
February 23, 2006
In a recent nationwide survey of architecture and design schools, DesignIntelligence ranked the University of Florida’s Department of Landscape Architecture graduate program 14th best in the nation and 4th best in the South according to DI’s America’s Best Architecture & Design Schools 2006. The department’s undergraduate program ranked 13th best in the nation according to the annual survey of individuals with direct experience hiring and evaluating the performance of graduates.
More than 400 research participants in the private and public sectors participated in the two-month survey in 2005 to identify the educational institution of their most qualified hires. Only schools that are accredited by the Landscape Architecture Accreditation Board were included in the rankings.
Regional ranking was modified this year to reflect the national trend of firms recruiting from other parts of the nation making rankings even more competitive. This ranking appears in DI’s Almanac of Architecture & Design 2006 in addition to the 2006 DI design schools report.
Congratulations to the Department of Landscape Architecture for continuing to produce graduates recognized as best prepared in the nation by design firms.
