LAA 6656 - Advanced Planning and Design:
Social & Behavioral Issues

This course is a planning and design studio that emphasizes regional
issues -- the social, cultural and natural context.
Objectives
Studio 6656 is largely composed of applications and explorations
of human behavior regarding pertinent social and cultural issues.
This course follows or accompanies LAA 6342 – Landscape Architecture
and Environmental Quality, and builds upon the information presented
there, e.g., user analysis and perception, advocacy planning and
designing for special populations. A wide variety of possible project
types and scales shall provide the learning vehicle for this studio.

Performance
The semester will include a series of projects or tasks of varying
duration and will likely involve both individual and group work.
Grading will reflect the relative time and effort allocated by both
individuals and groups for each segment. At the instructor's discretion,
grading may also reflect individual attitude, initiative, participation,
personal growth, and professional deportment.
