The Vicenza Interior Design Institute (VIDI) offers design students the opportunity to travel abroad and experience architecture and interior design from the past that continues to inspire society today. Studying abroad in Italy is an exciting educational venture for students to gain knowledge and understanding in art and design from one of the most historically significant countries in the world. The program allows students to engage all of their senses in rich history, exploring work by artists and architects such as Palladio, Scarpa, Michelangelo and da Vinci. VIDI connects students with historic spaces such as the Basilica di Santa Maria del Fiore in Florence, where art and architecture combine and students gain an understanding of interior and exterior design, as well as the importance of creating a cohesive statement as one moves in, through, and around a structure. VIDI offers an opportunity to be influenced by a unique culture with classes and excursions that introduce history first-hand. Students have the opportunity to create friendships and memories to last a lifetime as they travel through foreign cities and experience a new language and culture that is both enriching and inspiring.
