Collge of Design, Construction & Planning
Doctoral Program

Ph.D. Admissions

Admission to our Ph.D. program is granted at both the college and school or department level.

To be admitted, you must:

  • Have a master’s degree in one of DCP’s five disciplines (applicants possessing master’s degrees in other disciplines are considered on a case-by-case basis)
  • Satisfy all requirements of the Graduate School
  • Have a combined GRE score of 1200 or more

The Ph.D. Program Director reviews the completed application folder and then sends it to one of the Graduate Coordinators within the study specializations of each department. Their goal is to identify faculty member(s) whose research parallels the interest of the applicant. Once a match is made between faculty member’s research interest and the applicant’s, plus all Graduate School requirements are satisfied, the applicant can be recommended for acceptance, based on availability of space and resources.
