ADMISSION PROCESS
Those interested in applying to the Ph. D. Program must have a masters degree in a field represented by one of the five disciplines in the College of Design, Construction and Planning. The admission’s committee considers other degrees on a case-by-case basis.

The Ph. D. Program Director reviews the completed application folder and then sends it to one of the Graduate Coordinators within the study specializations of each department. Their goal is to identify faculty member(s) whose research parallels the interest of the applicant. Once a match is made between faculty member’s research interest and the applicant’s, plus all Graduate School requirements are satisfied, the applicant can be recommended for acceptance, based on availability of space and resources.

Applications must be received by January 14. There are variable and limited resources available each year, thus, competition is intense. In the end, admission is based on the applicant's preparation and research interest; of equal importance is his or her compatibility with an appropriate faculty member who is willing to supervise the research.

It is the applicant's responsibility to provide complete documentation to the Office of Admissions and to the DCP Doctoral Program.
