TERMS OF AWARD

The applying school district or agency understands and accepts the conditions set forth by the Florida Department of Transportation's Traffic and Bicycle Safety Education Program. These are:

1. The applicant may apply for up to $2,000. There is no assurance the exact amount specified in the grant will be awarded by the Florida Department of Transportation's Traffic and Bicycle Safety Education Program.

2. A match of equivalent or more dollars and/or in-kind contributions will be provided by the school district or other agency(s). A detailed account of the funding sources for the match and expenditures will be provided by the applicant.

3. The applicant will use the grant and match to purchase new equipment, replace existing equipment, provide for maintenance of equipment, reimburse for substitutes for teacher travel to out of district workshops, or any other approved use as stated in the final agreement.

4. The applicant agrees to conduct a publicity event to recognize the Florida Department of Transportation Safety Office, Florida Traffic and Bicycle Safety Education Program and local funding sources for their support of this program. Local media should be encouraged to cover the event.

5. The applicant will properly maintain the equipment, and provide a storage and transportation plan, in writing, as stated in the applicant's application form.

6. The applicant will provide adequate insurance coverage for equipment purchased by grant funds, and proof thereof, in writing. If equipment is lost or stolen, recovery and/or replacement is the sole responsibility of the applicant.

7. Applicant agrees to provide a progress report of the traffic education program. Once the award is received, the applicant will provide a report six months after receipt of the mini-grant, and a second report twelve months later or at the end of the school year.
