Jeet Singh, M.Arch 2004 and ARC 2002

Jeet Singh is the 2009 recipient of the School of Architecture’s Young Architects Design Award.
Jeet grew up in a small agricultural community on the island of Trinidad where he nurtured an ethic of hard work and a focus on education. He and his family moved to the U.S. in 1994. Originally aspiring to become a pilot, he respected his parents concerns for the risks and dangers and followed his school-mates to UF, where he was accepted to the then College of Architecture. After six years of architectural boot camp, he achieved his master’s in architecture and was ready for the profession.
A representative from the Tampa firm Gould Evans Associates was a juror on Jeet’s final review, and recognizing Jeet’s natural talents and obvious hard work, hired Jeet within the week. Five years later, he is still at the firm as a designer and firm associate, where he has had the opportunity to be a part of a few very special projects that include the new multipurpose facility for Hillsborough Community College and the new Elliott Museum in Stuart, both of which have won multiple AIA design awards. Jeet also received a Florida AIA unbuilt Merit Award for his master’s research project and was a recipient of commission for the Decatur Modern Design Challenge Competition as a member of Featherston Singh Architect, LLC, a business venture. He hopes one day to be the old man in the office that still builds models.

His group concentrates on food, beverage, manufacturing and distribution projects across the country and internationally. He maintains active contractor’s licenses in Florida, Louisiana, South Carolina and Oregon.

Haskell has maintained Major Donor status through Tim’s support of the Design/Build Team since 2002. Tim also works closely with the St. Johns County Career Academy program.
