Graduate Admissions

Donna Cohen

Professor Donna Cohen and some of her architecture students.

All of our academic units offer graduate degrees. The DCP Doctoral Program offers the Doctor of Philosophy in Design, Construction and Planning with an emphasis in any one of the fields of study offered by the college. Applicants for the Ph.D. degree should have a master's degree in a field represented by the disciplines in the College of DCP. Prospective graduates have specific admission requirements and application deadlines that vary by academic unit. Each academic unit has a graduate coordinator who can provide students with detailed information about degrees, curriculum, research opportunities and resources. You are encouraged to contact the graduate program assistant for details on admission requirements.

Admissions Requirements

To be admitted to graduate study in a given academic unit, the prospective student must satisfy the requirements of the unit as well as those of the Graduate School. Admission to some programs is limited by the resources available. Individual schools/departments are responsible for admitting students, therefore requirements may vary according to the school/department. For more information contact the graduate program assistants.

Application Procedures & Deadlines

Two UF units evaluate your application to the UF Graduate School: the UF Office of Admission, which determines your eligibility for admission to the university, and the school/department you want to major in, which determines your eligibility for its graduate program. If you are a non-U.S. applicant, the UF International Center also evaluates your application to determine your eligibility for a student visa.

Each of these units needs specific materials from you to make a decision. Please make sure you send your materials to the correct unit so your application is not held up by missing required documents. The Graduate School provides detailed instructions for How to Apply.
